The United Kingdom (U.K.) is Canada's third-largest trading partner and the largest destination for Canadian direct investment in Europe. The country is extremely business-friendly, making it an attractive location for investment. The Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement (Canada-UK TCA), in effect since April 1, 2021, ensures continued preferential market access for businesses from both Canada and the U.K. Export Development Canada (EDC) sees strong opportunities in many sectors, including cleantech, renewables, advanced technology, mining and metals, infrastructure and transportation.
