Todd Winterhalt was appointed Senior Vice-President, International Markets and Head of Communications & Public Affairs in April 2024. He works closely with Canada’s corporate community to create new, international trade opportunities for Canadian exporters and investors.
At the same time, Todd represents EDC’s brand across international markets; leads the teams developing and managing EDC’s international relationships, partners and stakeholders; and oversees the organization’s Corporate Communications and Public Affairs functions to ensure ongoing strategic alignment with the Government of Canada.
Prior to this, Todd acted as Senior Vice-President, Communications, Marketing and Corporate Strategy Officer since 2019. Since joining EDC in 2002, he has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility, including: Managing Director of Global Trade, Vice-President of International Business Development, Vice-President of Human Resources, Chief International Research Advisor for Financing, and Director of Political Risk Assessment.
Prior to joining EDC, Todd served in the Canadian diplomatic corps where he held several roles, including Consul and Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Consulate General in São Paulo, Brazil.
Todd holds a Honours B.A. from Western University, and a M.Sc from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the inaugural recipient of EDC’s Excellence in People Leadership Award and is a past-President of the Canadian Association of Professional Intelligence Analysts.
