Following a career that spanned nearly four decades with Co-operators Group Ltd., Katherine Bardswick stepped down from her role as President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2016.

Ms. Bardswick is very active in the co-operative and mutual insurance sectors and has held leadership roles with a wide range of organizations, including Chair of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation and board member with the International Cooperative Alliance.

She is equally active in contributing to a more sustainable world. Ms. Bardswick is past Chair of the Sustainable Finance Action Council and she was founding Executive Director of the Canadian Climate Institute. She continues to contribute having recently chaired the appointment committee for the Canadian Taxonomy and Transition Planning Council.  

She currently is a board member and Chair of the Conduct Review committee for RGA Canada, board member and Chair of the risk and Investment committee for Foresters Financial, and board member and Chair of the Human Resources committee for Wawanesa Mutual.

Ms. Bardswick holds a B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba and MBA from McMaster University.
