Daniel Moore was appointed to EDC’s Board of Directors on June 21, 2024. Daniel is an accomplished senior financial services executive with 25 years of experience spanning capital markets, corporate banking, and risk management across diverse geographies.
As Group Head and Chief Risk Officer for Scotiabank, Daniel was responsible for global management of risk, including enterprise, credit and market risk, as well as non-financial risks across the more than 30 countries where Scotiabank operates. He transformed the banks capabilities in anti-money laundering, Cyber and IT Risk Management, and ESG risks, and built out the new risk practices of Third-Party Risk, AI Risk, and Data Risk. He led the development of AI capabilities at the Scotiabank, building the bank's largest artificial intelligence and data sciences team, thus generating significant value for shareholders and customers. Prior to this, Daniel spent 20 years in a variety of capital markets roles in Toronto, Europe, and across Asia Pacific.
Daniel works as a Senior Advisor to a number of organizations and is co-CEO and co-founder of River Run Ventures. Daniel serves as Chair of the Risk Committee and as Board member for Deutsche Bank USA, as a Governor of Branksome Hall, and as an Advisor to the Global Risk Institute.
Daniel holds a D. Phil. in Theoretical Physics from Oxford University and a B.Sc. from Queen’s University.
