Amesika Baëta joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in 2014 to help Canadian businesses grow internationally. As a regional director for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) West region, which includes Peel, Halton, Hamilton, and Niagara regions, she manages a team of eight relationship managers who work directly with Canadian companies to offer knowledge, financing, and risk management solutions.

 As a trusted trade advisor, Baëta is passionate about helping Canadian companies become more internationally competitive. With more than 14 years of experience in international trade finance and account management, she’s worked for national trade associations and government organizations. 

Baëta holds a master's degree from the University of Manchester, U.K. in international development and has an honours bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Toronto. She also has a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation from the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) and a Certified[KT1] [IE2]  Banking & Credit Analyst (CBCA) designation from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).
