General FAQs

EDC is a workplace grounded in mutual respect and supportiveness. We encourage each other to think big, take chances, and put our full skills and knowledge to use. We build teams that root for each other, professionally—and personally, too. We’re here for each other because we know it takes all of our combined talents to help Canadian companies succeed internationally. Read more about our culture.

Permanent and contract employees at EDC enjoy an extensive and competitive benefits package.

We treat our process as a “get to know you” opportunity—for both you and us. During an interview, we want to learn more about your background and skills, and to help you understand the role you’ve applied for as well as our people, culture and business. We’ll look at your talents and abilities in light of our business needs. Don’t be shy: take the chance to talk about your achievements and the value you think you could bring to EDC. And feel free to ask us questions, too.

Electronic resumes are easy to submit through the online application form on our Current Openings page. There’s no need to send a hard copy of your resume.

The posting will say if a cover letter is required. If not, but you would like to include one anyway, feel free to upload it along with your resume. You can address it to the Hiring Team.

We’ll send you a confirmation email whether you’re creating a general candidate profile or submitting your application for a specific position.

We’ll contact you if you’re selected for an interview. Unfortunately, with the volume of applications we receive, we aren’t able to reply to candidates who don’t advance to the interview stage. Make sure you choose the option to be notified of future opportunities when you submit your online application—that way you’ll get emails whenever a new job is posted that suits your profile.

No. As a Crown corporation, EDC has its own recruitment process that’s completely separate from that of the federal government.

We’ll contact you if you’re selected for an interview, but given the volume of applications we handle, we’re not able to speak with applicants individually.

Student FAQs

It really depends on the role, because each one has its own unique requirements. So we look for students with skills, experience and passion that match open roles.

The length of a work term depends on the role, but usually it ranges from four months to a full year.

We take students from all universities and colleges across Canada.

We post student positions three times a year:

  • Winter term (January to April) – posted in September
  • Summer term (May to August) – posted in January
  • Fall term (September to December) – posted in May

It’s easy! Just apply to the open positions listed on our website.

Yes, if you work a minimum of 15 hrs per week you are eligible for a competitive benefits package.
