South Africa is the most industrialized and advanced, broad-based economy in Sub-Saharan Africa. It has a stable investment climate boosted by strong financial and legal sectors. Governance indicators, however, have been deteriorating in recent years as the state-management of some sectors has led to interference and corruption. The economy remains severely troubled by the impact of electricity capacity constraints, a struggling logistics sector and a high level of inequality.
