Rwanda is a rural, agrarian country with agriculture and agro-processing as the main sectors. The country's strong economic performance is primarily driven by services, partly due to the recovery of the tourism sector to near pre-pandemic levels. Economic growth is also supported by the construction sector and growth in food processing and textiles. The perceived role of forces linked to Rwanda in the escalation of the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo could undermine international financial support for economic growth and development.
