Israel is a developed country with a technologically advanced and diversified economy and highly skilled workforce. Improvements in the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) in 2014 have created opportunities and eliminated or reduced tariffs on agricultural and fisheries products, furthering our trade ties. Canada has an established trade and investment relationship with Israel, with high potential for business opportunities across a wide range of sectors. The current conflict in Gaza may pose risks to Canadian exporters due to shipping reroutes and delays, increased freight costs, and operational disruptions on the importer side.
