Prince Owusu is a Senior Economist with over 2 decades of economic forecasting and analysis of the Canadian and global economies. Since joining Export Development Canada (EDC) 7yrs ago, he has been in-charge of the United States, Canadian and Mexican economies, by providing macroeconomic and monetary policy views to guide EDC’s business strategy.
In addition to the overall macro-views, he covers agrifood, seafood, fertilizer, and the lumber industries. He provides market intelligence to support EDC’s operational decisions on those sectors. Prince is also in-charge of developing, running, and maintaining the macroeconomic models used to generate the economic forecast and scenario analysis, making sure that EDC is well-prepared under different economic conditions to help Canadian exporters.
Prior to EDC, Prince spent 16 years with the Conference Board of Canada (the Board), covering the provincial economies and undertaking several financed-research projects to assess the economic impact of natural disasters and infrastructure projects, as well as natural resources and international trade developments for businesses, provincial governments, and crown agencies.
