Anita Ramasastry is the Dean Roland Hjorth Professor of Law and Director of the Sustainable International Development Program at the University of Washington School of Law. She is an expert in the fields of anti-corruption, law and development, business and human rights, and international commercial law. 

From 2009 to 2011 Ms. Ramasastry served as senior advisor in the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce, where she oversaw a program focused on anti-corruption and trade. Prior to joining academia, she was a staff attorney at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the law firm of White & Case. Ms. Ramasastry has advised many international and nongovernmental organizations including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Commission, the Institute for Human Rights and Business and Business for Social Responsibility. She is a founding editor-in-chief of the Business and Human Rights Journal (Cambridge). 

Ms. Ramasastry is currently the president of the US Uniform Law Commission, an organization which promotes uniformity of the laws of the 50 states. In this capacity, she collaborates actively with the Uniform Law Conference of Canada. Ms. Ramasastry is also a member of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Harvard College and the University of Sydney.
