Export Development Canada (EDC) is pleased to announce that applications for its 2024/2025 Youth Education Program Scholarships are now open until March 1, 2024.
The scholarship program recognizes students and young leaders attending Canadian universities, colleges or cégeps for their outstanding academic achievements and dedication to community service, in keeping with EDC's Community Investment initiative to care for and empower the communities in which we live and work.
This year, the program is awarding a total of $135,000 in scholarships, each valued at $5,000. They will be awarded to 20 post-secondary students in international business with a high level of academic achievement. Additionally, the following seven scholarships will be awarded to post-secondary students from equity-seeking communities.

- Indigenous Community Leader Scholarship
- 2SLGBTQI+ Community Leader Scholarship
- DiversABILITY Community Leader Scholarship
- Latin+ Community Leader Scholarship
- Future Leader Scholarship
- Ukrainian Empowerment Scholarship

Since 2000, EDC has awarded more than 600 scholarships and $2 million as part of its Youth Education Program. For the first time in 2023, Community Leadership Scholarships were announced in partnership with EDC's Employee Resource Groups for students from equity-seeking communities. These recipients demonstrated dedication to advancing and supporting their communities through extra-curricular and volunteer initiatives.
The application deadline for the 2024/2025 academic year is March 1, 2024. All eligible applications will be reviewed in March and recipients will be announced in June 2024. For more information on the scholarships and the application process, please visit EDC’s Youth Education Program webpage.
