Jorge A. Rave is currently Chief Representative in Mexico City with Export Development Canada (EDC). EDC helps Canadian companies go, grow, and succeed in their international business. As a financial Crown corporation, EDC provides financing, insurance, bonding, trade knowledge, and matchmaking connections to help Canadian companies sell and invest abroad. EDC can also leverage a full range of banking products to facilitate and grow purchases of Canadian goods and services by sovereign and corporate buyers around the world. Since joining EDC in 2008, Jorge has consistently taken on positions of increasing scope and responsibility with special focus on emerging markets (primarily Latin America). Jorge holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Université du Québec à Montréal and a postgraduate diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Oxford University. Jorge’s professional background also includes conducting academic research, teaching at the undergraduate level and participating in humanitarian and economic development projects in Latin America, Europe and Canada. Having travelled extensively and lived in five different countries, Jorge is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
