Cameron Jelinski joined Global Affairs in 2010. His first posting abroad was to Paris with Canada’s Permanent Delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). During his next posting, at the Canadian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, he was responsible for human rights, including gender equality and Indigenous and LGBTQ2 rights.

He’s been at the Global Affairs Canada’s Pacific regional office since 2020, where he’s worked as a trade commissioner, deputy director and since 2024, regional director and senior trade commissioner. Originally from Saskatchewan, he completed his master of arts degree at the University of British Columbia in 2010. He and his wife have two daughters, Éva, 5 and Zoe, 3.
